NIDDK Unveils Patient Education Series on Treatment Methods for Kidney Failure

A new boxed set of patient education materials on kidney failure is now available from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. The series contains six booklets and seven fact sheets that explain treatment options for kidney failure and associated concerns and complications. A glossary is also included to help patients, family, and friends understand the medical terms associated with kidney failure. The materials, which have been tested for readability with patients and health care professionals, are as follows:

Kidney Failure Series

One boxed set is available free of charge from the National Kidney and Urologic Diseases Information Clearinghouse (NKUDIC). Additional boxed sets can be ordered from NKUDIC for $10 each. Bulk quantities of the individual publications are also available to health care providers. Single copies of booklets and fact sheets are free of charge. Packages of 25 booklets are $10, and packages of 25 fact sheets are $5.
