Lo que usted debe saber sobre los problemas de erección (What I need to know about Erection Problems)
An estimated one in five men suffers from erection problems, or erectile dysfunction (ED). ED can be a sign of serious health problems, such as high blood pressure or diabetes. This booklet explains what could cause erection problems, what to expect from a visit to the doctor, and typical treatments for the condition, including lifestyle changes, counseling, oral or injected medications, and penile implants.
Henoch-Schönlein Purpura
This four-page fact sheet defines Henoch-Schönlein Purpura (HSP) and explains its symptoms, causes, diagnosis, and treatment. HSP is a disease that causes small blood vessels in the skin to leak due to inflammation. While the primary symptom of HSP is a rash, the disease may affect the kidneys, causing blood or protein to appear in the urine. HSP also can cause abdominal pain and swollen joints. A rare complication of this disease is a blockage within the bowel, which could require surgery to correct. In most cases, HSP lasts 4 to 6 weeks with no long-term consequences.
What I need to know about My Child’s Bedwetting
This 14-page, easy-to-read booklet explains for parents why some children take longer than others to learn how to stay dry at night and whether they should take their child to a doctor. Parents will find options for how to help their child develop night-time bladder control, as well as resources for more information.
Urostomy and Continent Urinary Diversion
This six-page fact sheet discusses the normal anatomy of the urinary tract and problems that
might require an alternative way of eliminating urine. It describes two types of urostomies—
ileal conduit and ureterostomy—and two types of continent diversions— continent cutaneous
reservoir and bladder substitute. The publication also teaches readers how to care for their urinary diversion.
